TBH, I have bought several razors and strops from Japan. All were as-described and I truly was glad to get them in the fine condition they were in. In fact, before they started selling some of this stuff off, it WAS actually rare to see it. At least some of it!
I cannot ever recall seeing Henckels 17's until the last few years and believe me, I have looked for Henckels much longer than I care to admit!

I rest my case.

Thanked: 480Gee Tom, I wish I had known. I would have given you first crack.
There are a couple of 17s on the bay right now, but none of them nice enough for you (I know you don't settle for less than optimal conditions)
There was a 14 over at Nippon as well, but way overpriced (at least as far as this cheap bastard was concerned)
I don't know what the mm size was on the 17s, but mine measured in at 7/8 If you check the widths of many of the supposed "mint" razors out there, you will find them coming in rather shy of the measurements they were born with.

Exactly. Mine is a Friodur, 23mm or a bit over 7/8. It has some moderate hone wear. Scales are worn and grungy
Still, a nice blade and shipped right with a decent buy. The scales might actually clean up and polish. Or, I will find some clothes for it around here! Certain to be swell shaver!
Point is, I paid little money for it as it has it's flaws. This 99 cent Filly of your's has it's flaws as well. It will go as a good-shaving Filly with it's flaws. Not as a 450.00 NOS one. It all makes sense and it is all about what someone wants to buy. They all shave good, or most. Shave or shine? THAT is where the money is.Condition is everything. As in all things. I rest my case.

Thanked: 9I do this with all the razors that I post on eBay. My last one was a Puma 6/8 with a starting bid of $9.99 that ended at $331.99.
