Well, it just went for 490.00 U.S. Quite a sum for a regrind needing scales. It had better shave good!

I rest my case.

Thanked: 169That was not prudent spending... I'd rather buy one of those with the original grind in rust bucket form for that kind of cash. It's reground and short....

Thanked: 169I bought the insanely large exposition razor from Paris that was up there. When it shows up, who knows, but those are real straight razors apart from the unmanageable form factor. At the price it was, I bought it on principle. I think I will have mark clean it up a touch as the scales are ivory I think and I don't trust myself with them...

Thanked: 169I have a drawer brimmed with common straights and de. Any time I splurge, I dig out what I think will eat the splurge and throw it up on the net. It's a good system to not go poor indulging your giant razor habit.

Thanked: 169That went way cheap. They have gone for a hell of a lot more.... It is ~1.377" at widest point.

Thanked: 169I'll give shaving with that a go. I've tried taller, though I may choke up on it. It's funny how the French refused to alter their design aesthetic like the British did. A lot of 8/8+ Sheffield blades are a bit squat.
