Thanked: 169Probably a seller that was burned by crooked overseas customs with sticky fingers or an overseas buyer... On ebay anyway, there are a very small number of foreign countries I will deal with. Outside of ebay, I am far more open. To get the protections as a seller, would require extremely costly shipping options. Asia, poland, Italy (you might as well set your item on fire), and south america are pretty much the never never list. Norway, sweden, finland are the gold standard for painless international deals. I can throw something in a box 1st class to norway and know 100% it will get there fine and fast. Canada, things disappear into limbo for weeks sometimes. I've straight up ground canada to a halt because they go out of their way to make life miserable when it comes to sending or receiving packages...

Thanked: 433After several bad experiences shipping to China and Germany and high prices and the weeks long limbo in Canada, I'll never ship overseas again.

Thanked: 169IDK about russia. I am wary to be honest. It sucks too because every time I put up a knife or carpentry hone that I don't need, I get a LOT of russian interest, but I have no data to go by so I must avoid unless they use a forwarding service where you can ship to a us address and then it is their problem...

Thanked: 3222Never had a problem shipping to the US or receiving from the US aside from the odd longer wait on occasion. Never a problem receiving packages from the UK, Ireland, Germany or South Africa. Oth I don't do a lot of shipping and receiving and don't really care if someone won't ship here, plenty of others will.

Thanked: 4822If you watch a lot of items it seems that the lowest prices are those that ship via Global Ship, followed next seems to be items that have no international shipping. You can specify what counties you ship to and which ones you won't. It seems that the better money would be in the select international shipping. I had a conversation with a seller in the US once that was not willing to ship to Canada and it seems that Ebay has a hold on the funds until the package arrives. So if you want the cash right away you need to limit how far it is going. I have not yet sold on Ebay so I am in part speculating and going on here say. If people would like to get less but sooner that is their business. I don't really care where I buy from, as long as the price is reasonable. I buy more from the UK and Japan now that there is so much Global Ship going on and that's ok.
