    Well whoever honed it to this condition must have never head of lapping their hones, or used on of those half rounds for chisels.

    Yeah . . puts me in mind of one of the vintage blades I saw this weekend. Some idiot had taken a Dremel or other grinding type tool and marked their initials on the blade through the patina.
