In contrast to this, I know of one seller (<cough!> aka_fuji <cough!>) who has less than average photography skills, but some damn nice razors. I purchased an H. Diamond 8000 from him that looked like it was going to need a little work cleaning in the photo, and it arrived in Near Mint condition. Ditto with a forum bud on another board, bought a FeoN 172 that looked pretty rough in the photo and arrived in Very Good condition...

    Fickle thing, these eBay J-Wests...

I get what your saying. I dont think the photos though accurately reflect the condition. Too difficult to observe from the pics imo

I purchased a razor from the guy...it was on the low end of his inventory. You can sight down the spine and see it, quite symmetrical, fat, skinny fat. It has turned out to be a winner because I have had to overcome my disgust with geometry problems. Yep, it hones up sweetly and is a pleasure to shave with. Honing just requires a hyper focus to run the hones in every way you can think of.
Oh and I contacted him and asked if he was firm on the price. He dropped it quickly. Did he know the problems the razor had? I wonder.

JapanNippon, or one of the other sellers mentioned in the thread? I've wondered if he would negotiate on prices.

A couple questions I have immediately are where can I find so many blades cheap enough to re-sell them and make a profit (I would keep them), and is there something fishy going on?
The seller is Japannippon. And I'm not saying they are having workers in some secret shop manufacturing.. nothing crazy like that... I just want to know what their secret is! Lol where do all these blades come from!
Did people in Japan and surrounding countries buy countless razors keep them nice prefect until now?
Does the seller have a team of buyers working around the clock? ... so many questions unanswered.
    Hehehe
What do you guys think? Ever come across these blades and wonder?
Why not just ask the guy? Send him a message and I'm quite sure he'll be glad to answer on some of your questions

That seems kindof shady, annoying at best. I can't stand marketing techniques.
And as globaldev says : the pics have been taken in lighting that covers up imperfections best seen.

Did you say Hayashi Diamond 8000?! That is one of the Japanese Unicorns I could never get! I believed I grabbed a Hoshi Tombo 8500 from aka_fuji last year. Great seller with great blades.
