There are a few sellers in Japan that have quite a few straight razors that are NOS or in very good condition. They are pretty expensive (not saying they are overpriced necessarily, just expensive for someone like me). It is interesting though.
I thought I read here one time that nice straight razors were easy to find in Japan. I'm not sure though.

There are a couple of seller in Japan with amazing razors. Several others with piles of junk. When I very first started I had the chance to buy a lot of 1500 razors for 3500. I had no idea what I was looking at or for. I did get a lot of pictures and an inventory. It was too much for me at the time, and he would not budge on anything less than everything. I often wonder who did get that giant lot. I also wonder how good it really was.

I wonder it that was Telly's lot? If so, he said it was someone from Germany.

    LMAO! Rear! You're killing me.
1500 razors for 3500? Might have to sell my car..
Yeah, the guy has been selling nice blades, a whole lot of them for a while now. It's hard to imagine he bought a bunch of them at once, but maybe HE bought that 3500 pack... Hehehe
I'll probably buy a few over time from him but I've been hesitant to do so.

Japannippon did not buy the lot, they source the blades locally from Japan.

The lot I had a chance at was some old dude in Northern Quebec. He had an add on Craigs List.

I'm going to be purchasing a razor or two from JNippon within the next month or so.

The seller you mention is legit. I know the Filarmonica factory did quite a bit of exporting to Japan back in the 70's and 80's. The blades for Japan usually have a round tip, but there are some square tipped too.

Always look closely at the photos. Ive noticed that photos are taken with lighting that appear to deemphasize what i would consider important to disclose.
