What ebay began doing, purportedly to discourage inflated shipping charges, was to include the shipping cost in the final value fees. So 10% of final value is what the seller pays ebay, and then 3% to paypal.

They no longer hassle sellers about inflated shipping costs, as they are getting their piece of the action.
You're correct, I did know that. I read it again and it says he will leave a negative comment. I remember when ebay fees were like 3%, and you sent checks to pay for your goods! Now they take an arm and a leg...

Yeah, I've posted this often, but at the risk of being redundant ....... it is like the guy who tells his friend he is going to the poker game. Friend says, the game is crooked ....... guy answers, I know, but it is the only game in town.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

This all came to me because I keep seeing razors on ebay that people showcase as being "stunning" "unique" "one of a kind" etc. My first example is this wade and butcher. The scales aren't even shaped, the spacer is ginormous, the bevel is extremely large and uneven, and the guy says the scales are "original" multiple times! I actually messaged him, and he thoroughly believes what he is selling is a work of art. Then he also says the blade needs honing, and he'll do it for an extra 20 bucks! I understand that this straight razor club isn't exclusive, and everyone has a right to do what they want, but at least be good at what you do before you sell junk to other ignorant people willing to buy it!

And somebody paid $122.00 for it.

You can see right away the bevel on it doesn't look right, definitely wrong.

Guys, if you simply link to the ebay photos, then those images will be lost in short order when ebay deletes them. Please copy the photos or something in order to allow the photos in this thread to remain accessible in perpetuity.

Well here's another one to add to the list.

    J A Henckels Straight Razor | eBay

Looks like a run of the mill henckels to me. Must be some diamonds or solid gold hiding somewhere in the one picture given... I guess the whole heartfelt family story adds $1400 to the value.

Reminds of kids trying to separate pyrite from sand. Must be gold cause it looks like it right ?
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
