Thanked: 237wall of dissappointment
Ok, we have the wall of shame that show people who try to sell things they often just don't realize are trash. I'm starting this thread to showcase those that actually should know that what they are selling isn't up to par. This all came to me because I keep seeing razors on ebay that people showcase as being "stunning" "unique" "one of a kind" etc. My first example is this wade and butcher. The scales aren't even shaped, the spacer is ginormous, the bevel is extremely large and uneven, and the guy says the scales are "original" multiple times! I actually messaged him, and he thoroughly believes what he is selling is a work of art. Then he also says the blade needs honing, and he'll do it for an extra 20 bucks! I understand that this straight razor club isn't exclusive, and everyone has a right to do what they want, but at least be good at what you do before you sell junk to other ignorant people willing to buy it!

I like the ones that say something like, 'I don't really know what I'm selling, but it will make a great addition to your collection.'
Then there are sellers that really don't know what they have and say so. Nothing further added. No one complains about these folks. I certainly don't.Last edited by WW243; 12-02-2015 at 11:13 AM.

Thanked: 237This is a prime example of why I started this thread. This guy charges between $165 and $200 for shipping. I don't understand how this is allowed as an option...

I can't believe eBay even allows this! In the past they tried to tell me I was charging too much for shipping on an item when I checked with post office and the amount I quoted in listing was the amount the post office listed. Some one at eBay is dropping the ball........

Thanked: 237Right! He even says if you win the auction for one dollar he isn't changing the shipping price. Then threatens negative feedback and such to those that try to argue. Yea it's some nice hones and razors, but even if I won the auction for $1, it wouldn't be worth it. I think he's a scam artist. I asked for pictures of the stamps of the hone he claims to be a maruka, but I doubt they exist.

A seller hasn't been able to leave negative feedback for a buyer in at least a few years. Negative feedback is strictly allowed for the buyer to leave for the seller, not the other way around.
What ebay began doing, purportedly to discourage inflated shipping charges, was to include the shipping cost in the final value fees. So 10% of final value is what the seller pays ebay, and then 3% to paypal.
They no longer hassle sellers about inflated shipping costs, as they are getting their piece of the action.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
