Very nice sets but the asking price is far in excess of what I'd be willing to pay. I won't want to insult the seller with my best offer either.

I noticed that the etching on the blades and tang are blackened. Was this the "norm" back in the day?
Or were they filled in by black wax or something else to make the etching stand out more?
Most older razors you see today are not filled in.
Is it over there or over yonder?

Sheeeeeeeeeit, too rich for my blood? The only thing I'm on EBAY for these days, is to see if I can get a deal on a 3 pack of boxer brief seconds in size fat slob.

Yep, you can tell they are just to be looked at, if they where to be shaved with you would see the bevel set on them. Also what are those tiny grooves in the blades on the third set?. I would pay maybe $50.00 for them. I wonder if they have even been tempered? and ground?.

You gotta be kidding? Why on earth would they not be tempered? As to the bevels, rest assured they are there.
These sets are virtually (if not) unused, so the bevels are tiny. Far cry from the bevel on a 50 dollar well-used Sheffield.
    YMMV

I think don't straight razors were made to be "just looked at" back in the day. Even salesmen sample sets were factory sharp. I could be wrong but these all look unused. There are bevels on them.... If a company set out razors that weren't honed..... They'd get a bad reputation of selling junk.....

The scales are the big wowy wowy wowy for me. You don't see those very often and even less often in that kind of shape with near new original blades. To each their own.

Have a boxed set somewhat like those downstairs, unique looking blades, Joseph Rodgers in ivory scales...
