I believe there are a few sellers, in order to get good pics, "enhance" the etchings with graphite or their own method to make the etch "pop".
I've been the proud purchaser of a few blades, where the etches were clear as day, two shaves later, the etchings were still visible, but the "pop" had been washed away down the drain and it became obvious quite quickly that there had been some dark magic performed on those etchings....

I know who you speak of, Phrank.
However, if you look at this seller, that ain't the case, IMO.

Ebay is creepy, They play games with your head! The ivory set has disappeared without a trace. From my watch list as well. No history of it being sold.
Manipulation of the nation?"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 4826I had just noticed the same thing. Perhaps they should have left the fact that they were yvori, I'm quite certain everyone knew that by looking at the pictures.

Some of those are single-piece MOP, which is very rare. Nice museum pieces, similar razors have gone for similar prices at outside-ebay auctions, so I can see some of those prices being reasonable based on the history of other sales.
Bevels on razors when first made were extremely tiny, sometimes less than the width of a hair, almost invisible.
