The solder is ther to keep the edge from oxidizing, much the same way antique mall vendors varnish old tools.

I think the bevel is probably caused by forging marks but if it is silver they were probably way ahead of their time with silver being an antibiotic.....

    JB Weld… What?…

You don’t think, it will hold an edge?

I would think if it were silver solder it should have some heat signs in order for it to stick. I was thinking JB Weld too. It is so hard to tell without it in hand. Perhaps it is to prevent accidents, in a non shavers collection.

There are some low heat "silver" solders.

Only kind I've used is silver bearing solder and it requires flux to bond to the surface. I run the iron at around 6 or 700 degrees when grouping tattooing needles and putting them on the bars. The flux will corrode carbon steel if it is not neutralized following soldering. The whole operation is so quick that I doubt it would leave any heat discoloration on metal, if that is what they did there.

If you look at all of the seller's listings, you will see that most of the razors came from a collection. Many of them have old clear tape on the blades. I think what you are seeing is blade edge peeking out from behind some old worn cellophane tape.

Yep, Mr. Chick is right, I have to take back from post #9 after looking closer, the edge on that razor has the silvery colored glue from Duct tape, the tape came off leaving the residue.

Most of the razors from that collection had the edges taped, various types were used.

Interesting. If an SRPer got the FBU, or one of the others maybe that will be confirmed. Hope the tape didn't hold moisture up against the edge. Anyway ....... remains to be seen.
