Angry Fleabay Global Shipping Program sucks, at least for me in Brazil [grumbling alert]

Hard to believe! A $55 razor from EUA, plus $33 shipping became (with "taxes", "fees", and "magic customs abracadabras" from the "global shipping program") $172!!! No way, lice!!! Too much blood for the itch. Items below US$100 bought by natural persons aren't even subject of taxes in Brazil.

With this money I can replace all fluids, oil/air/gas filters, hoses and brake pads for my car!

That is a rip off for sure. USA sellers appreciate the convenience of the global shipping program because, aside from not having to deal with customs forms at the post office, we send it to the USA repository in Kentucky IIRC, and we are off the hook. For us the package has been 'delivered' and if it gets lost after that it is ebay's problem. If I were the buyer I would never go for an item sold with that plan. Too many horror stories and fees &c.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Matheus, check and see if your postal service offers something similar. NZ post does, item gets sent to a US address and then forwarded to me. Much cheaper than ebay global.

Global ship and their brokerage fees are so steep to Canada that I rarely even look at blade sellers that use it. To me using Global ship says DOES NOT SHIP to CANADA. I just look elsewhere. There are rare exceptions but it is seriously rare. Not only does their shipping cost way more than US Post, it takes over a week longer to reach me. I say no to shipping rip offs, and that is not restricted to Global either...

Yeah. it is crazy to NZ too. I remember my first purchase from the classifieds here, $5 for 2 razors to the door.
Not uncommon now to see $50 US shipping, I'm out...

Never happy to hear that another person got stung by the Global Shipping System. Sorry you had to find out about it that way.

Its such a ripoff I don't use it when selling on ebay. I have had buyers back out of sales when I quote them shipping at my cost. Annoying but I understand and let them off. I shipped a razor to Canada, small flat rate box $25.00 that to me is crazy. We in the USA take shipping cost for granted.

A former company of mine was sending boats to Brazil's government to help clean some waterways back in 2008/2009 with Global Shipping POS. The boats were essentially locked up for ransom for about 4-5 years before they were released, the amount of fees they were attempting to levy could have put the company out of business since it also happen to be during the economic downturn. Three people at the company started taking classes for customs so that it would be avoided. I will never use them.

Shipping to most countries out of CONUS is expensive. Small flat rate international express USPS is the only way I have found to do it with tracking and it's in the neighborhood of $60.00 to most countries. Then there is the import duty based on the value you placed on the custom form. Global shipping cost less than we pay to ship tracked packages but they place the true cost of the item on the custom document so the duty cost together with the shipping cost comes out about the same. If you sell a razor through eBay and it gets lost without tracking you will have to refund the customer and you will not be refunded the money you sold the razor for. Sometimes I take a chance and send razors out of CONUS without tracking but it's a gamble. If you are a business you can just write the loss off on your taxes but for an individual it's just a painful loss. A few years ago I sent a $250.00 razor to Rome, Italy without tracking. The buyer said he never received it. That was an expensive lesson.

I checked it, but they don't offer this kind of service.
I also assume reliable tracked international shipping is not cheap, I am used to pay about US$30,00 most of the time. I don´t complain about that, because I know internet killed most of the volume demand of postal services throughout the world, thus making costly the shipment of small, light packets once shipped with common "paper" correspondence.
I'm pissed because I don´t like to pay useless intermediates for obviously included services as custom checking/sniffing/clearing. To offer a product with mandatory brokerage fees, when open-market alternatives are available is considered crime here. The person who sells you a car can not compel you to arrange the documentation towards an mandatory agent, if you can do it by yourself just by spending an afternoon (ok... maybe a week, bring your toothbrush) at the transit department.
I'm not trying to buy a metric ton of hydrazine, just a common mundane item as a pen.

World is getting costly, as people are getting dumber and lazy.

And WORSE! That beauty is still there tempting me!
