Dishonesty at it's worst
I sold a razor on fleabay back in April.
It didn't sell for a large amount and the postage from Ireland to Canada cost more than the actual razor sold for.
I posted the razor using the Irish postal service and paid for a registered service with tracking so I could provide the number to the buyer and keep an eye on it myself.
While on holidays with my family in May the buyer opened a 'did not receive my item' case after 2 weeks without even contacting myself with their concerns.
As I was away I had no recourse to any information and thought I'll deal with this when I get home.
Unfortunately when I got back the person who shall remain nameless received their refund.
This was about the time that Fort Mac was on fire and postal services were delayed for most of Canada as per the Canada Post website.
Since the refund went through I have tried to have this decision reversed to no avail.
6 weeks after I posted the razor it was signed for by the person who purchased it and got their refund!!
So I have been chasing them with almost weekly reminders and customer service complaints.
I have been stonewalled by both ebay and the 'buyer'
After contacting the CEO of ebay, naming the person on here (post removed and rules reminded of by mainaman,) the ebay press office and anybody who wouldn't listen, I received a call from the press office of ebay.
They told me I would receive my due refund within a week.
I got an email in the early hours of this morning stating a donation had been paid to St Jude's Research Hospital in Memphis TN in lieu of a refund. Funny thing is they included the webmaster email address of this site in the cc.
Strange thing to do!!
Fair enough, it never really was the money that bothered me but the dishonesty that was portrayed.
The ebayer concerned is a member of this website obviously so if you're reading this xx-xxxxx you'll know I'm writing about you!
Be warned fellow SRP users, there is one hell of a dishonest ebayer amongst us.Last edited by mainaman; 08-16-2016 at 02:14 AM.

Thanked: 3225Taking your account at face value, not having any reason to doubt the veracity of your account, and without the other side of the story, all I can say is WOW. Nothing like being apparently bent over and tag teamed to make your day. Sorry you had that experience for what that is worth.

I don't hang out the forums much anymore, plus I get banned all the time for calling things the way I see them, which I wear as a badge of honor. So here I go......
I think the member that pull that shenanigan should be banned and publicly shamed. If this is supposed to be a gentlemanly environment, people like this member should not be allowed to participate in here.
Obviously he is not a gentleman. But I'm not running the place, otherwise this would not even be a conversation.

Thanked: 39I have bought quite a few razors over the past 2 months (RAD) right now I have 100.00 in the bank, I can't afford being this way, in fact I just returned a razor (Estate sale) to a seller because of the history of it (thru grandfather and father) I told the person to put it in a case with a note detailing the history and give it to surviving family members (very few). It was a Bengall that the grand father had while stationed over seas during WWII. I requested NO refund. Luckily people like this are in the less 2% of buyers.

I have had dodgy situations concerning ebay too.
Ihad to pay for an item once that I never received it was signed for by some one, a stranger. Must have gone to a wrong address.
Also I was forced to pay for a bike part I never received.
A month later I found it under the hedge in the front garden :/

Not sure if you did or not, but recommend when selling long distance to make mention that it may take up to 2 months for the item to arrive. eBay often gives an estimated arrival date. Speaking as a long distance buyer, you see the day approaching, you get all excited, you're all ready, the day passes by, the next, then the next week, two, three... Sometimes it takes so long your taste in razors has changed by the time it arrives. lol.
I'm not commenting on your situation so much, just a suggestion worth remembering, for newbie buyers too.I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!
