So my PayPal or my wife's was wickedly hacked. So far to approximately the time of $1k. This happened in a short amount of time between yesterday and just a few minutes ago. Please protect yourself friends!
Check and make sure you change your passwords or check your account often.

Are you both running an anti-malware program? Or was your password something simple? All it takes is clicking one of those links in a spam email and boom, you just installed a monitored key logger program. Are you going to get your cash back?

Well I have no idea about Mal ware. My computer skills are limited for my age because I just hate tech stuff: ) I have contacted PayPal and called my card in as compromised so they can't take any more. In the morning I still have to Call the bank and get with PayPal limitations department. Sounds like I should be getting reimbursement. I certainly have not purchased 4 long cocktail dresses and 4 simulation babies and there are 2 other charges that popped up for Lord knows what. I'm going to be done with eBay and PayPal after this is resolved.

Thanks for the heads up, sir! Sorry to hear about your PayPal account breach. Be especially careful of sites you visit especially if you have allowed your web browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Safari, etc.) to store your credit card information. A malicious script can hack that information, and pretty soon someone halfway around the globe is using your credit without the 3-digit CCV number on the back in some cases. I no longer allow my browser to store any CC information and am more careful in surfing.

You can also install add-ons like NoScript to block scripts, but many casual users (myself included) find the white-list management to be overly cumbersome because that tool blocks practically everything on a page not referenced to the local host.

The PayPal lady gave me the area code which was Virginia supposedly. If I have to I'll take a vacation. Jk I am sure this will be ok and dealt with Thanks

A number of years ago, when I first signed up with PayPal, my account was highjacked. They called me to see if I had authorized a series of purchases in England for some high-end cosmetics. Couldn't resist and told them that I stopped doing drag years ago and didn't need cosmetics anymore. When the chuckling stopped they closed that card down and issued a new one.

That is funny! I told the gal, I'm 34 and male, I have no need for fake babies and cocktail dresses.

I don't allow my devices to keep passwords, or credit card info. I run NoScript as well. I never do transactions on my phone. We can't be too careful nowadays.

Well after hours on the phone and chatting with my bank my money is returned. My bank had it returned the next day. After everything is resolved I will no longer be competition for you fellas on eBay. I'll be getting rid of pay pal and eBay. Can't afford such things to be happening.

Glad to hear you got your money back and thanks for the heads up. I try to make passwords that are random and don't use the same password in any of my accounts.
