Okay, after reading all of these advanced Ebay strategies, I set up a sniping account and have placed max bids on a few on my watch list that are ending this evening. There's one blade in particular that I envision in some pretty horn scales that I have blanks of. I may just go fishing and come home to see how I did.

when I used ebay, I always used to snipe. Most auctions end at a time that for me is something like 3 am at night. So if I didn't snipe, I simply wouldn't ever win because someone would always outbid me by less than a dollar or so.

Seldom do I see anything I want all that badly on eBay. I will use it as a selling venue from time to time although I prefer the BST forums which can be found here and elsewhere.

Hacker-Sad to say I lost both of the ones I was bidding on, one a blade lot with a nice hump-backed Ern Ator (my favorite) that I really wanted, but apparently not as badly as the guy who outbid me by $20 bucks. I tried to go in in the last minute on the Auction Sniper program that I was trying out to change it, but I was too late. Live and learn.

Thanked: 60Why Do People Bid on Ebay Auctions Days Before They End?
Like many have said. I just fire and forget. I bid what I think it's worth and don't worry about it. Takes all the stress and drama out. Plus it is a nice surprise to get an email couple days later saying you won.

Personally, I think sniping is wrong, and I'm willing to lose to stand by that.
