Default late post but good find.

Sorry about such a late post on this one, but I was trying to big on it today. It was not letting me saying there was an issue with the shipping or import export etch. Even though listed as international postage. I messaged them to let them know and try to straighten it out, explaining I really wanted to bid and raise it to $30usd (was bidding on another one of his razors and the exchange and shipping kills you). They msg'd back "I don't know contact EBay" so I did. They said it was because it was listed as an antique and can cause trouble with the import export aspect and that if he removed this from the description it would be okay. So I messaged the seller back and explained to them if they omitted antique from their descriptions that I would be able to bid. They responded, I can't it's already bedded on. I responded back, they said as long as it's still in auction you would be able to, but that's alright. I just figured it would be able to help you with bringing more value if internationals could bid, or it may just be Canada I am un certain. Their response to hat was. "I'm sure it's going to sell for alot more than 30 so I wouldn't even concern my self with it." so I said, well thanks for almost trying to help (after they wasted my time having me chase answers for nothing) and that it is a nice razor and I hope it brings you what you are hoping. Than I retracted my bid on their other razor.

I have researched and dated the scales to read 1830. It is a strange match for the blade tho, how do you think they have came together?

Nice razor and still would be a nice addition to any ones collection, give her a look guys.

Here's the other one I was bidding on from them. Another beaut. I would have been happy adding either of these styles to my collection. But what do you do? I'm sure the future will give me another opportunity to have something of these styles at some point.

I looked at that one. I had to conclude that the blade is not worth a thing and it is all about the scales. Listed as silver they will likely sell for scrap price. There are many out there cruising for silver for less than the going rate.

Yea the edge certainly looks no good anymore on it with the rust there. I just thought if would be a beaut for a show piece, I don't have any good names yet eh, or anything fancy looking. I was just blown away he didn't care to help me to bid after jumping trough the hoops to do sol and to scoff at raisin it to thirty when it's at 18... just found it so rude and ignorant on his behalf. I just added the link to the other razor I was bidding on, on the last message above.

And I shouldn't say that. I have a dovo, and a few bokers, and a couple Joseph Rogers. But you get me. The highly valuable sought after names. Although those ones can be as well.

Seems the flat, dull silver scales are about better sold as scrap. Dull and boring?

I still like them.lol I'm easily impressed and like all varieties. Specially if the price is nice and cheap like this currently would have been. (or relatively so... still about 50 to the house unfortunately.) and I just thought with it being W&B in some silver, it might be worth it? But truthfully, I don't have the money currently to be 'wasting' on single razors. I'd rather be finding lots to work with. Would Rather grow my collection currently than have that one special razor. Maybe in the future i'll slow down on the 'wanting them all' and start looking for single razors.

There are a ton of people on eBay peddling junk at high volume. It’s about lots of sales and not about being nice. I think the ask EBay was the first blow off, and not to try to resolve anything. You can’t reason with people that don’t want to talk to you. If they gave a second of consideration to Canadian buyers they wouldn’t be hooked up with global shipping. That is the highest priced pile of crap ever. If they are advertising global shipping don’t bother talking to them or watch listing the item, it is already over priced, and will take a week longer to get to you for triple the cost.

Great advice right there. And I'm new to it all. Have just started looking and dealing through there. A week or so now looking. But you're rigt. Just seems to be a lot of scandals, and very few true gentleman dealers. Still haven't made any purchases for that reason. Either I can't afford them, or it's just to outrageous or scandalous of a deal.

1st razor has a short cutting edge and a long tang. I presume that some steel was removed from the heel end of the blade. Somehow the scales do not look like silver to me. 2nd razor has considerable honewear.

I had never seen a wade of þis style either. But I think it's true. Looks more of a medical razor tho. And the scales are silver. If you trace the stamps on the back of it, it traces them to mean silver, where they are from, and the year 1830. I just find it a strange pair.. like I said, I have never seen a wade of this style, and I'm assuming the scales were a special order, or an after attachment, because it's not a wade and Bucher make.

But yea, after a closer inspection, the line is a bit strange, and the heel may have been ground away to fix a break.

And holy, smokes... it's up over 52... smh

Hmmm just got an email saying this has been relisted. Now for 'buy it now' $195. Kind of shifty to me. What happen to the last deal? Wasn't what he wanted for it, so he cancelled the deal? EBay seems full of snakes the more I look.
