Thanked: 634EBay and shipping
This is not really an ebay complaint. It is about USPS.
I just shipped a razor USPS First Class.
Razor was in razor box.
Razor box in padded envelope folded in half and taped.
Small padded envelope in larger padded envelope.
Razor delivered today. Buyer sent photos of razor and you are not going to believe it.
Razor box in three pieces.
Scales broken.
Blade snapped in half.
Small envelope fairly good.
Outer envelope looks like it was stabbed with something.
Needless to say I have sent a full refund.

Thanked: 4828They did break a rock on me once or twice. Wrapped in laminate flooring underlay and then wrapped in two layer of cardboard. I have no idea why they feel our mail deserves such rough handling.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I would think a machine or door was involved. I don't see simply standing on your more than adequate packaging doing that much damage.
I do hope it was insured. If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

They have been a problem for me a few times!
Anything less than a carefully packed "Flat Rate" box is asking for problems. Anything hard in an envelope is subject to breakage or being weaseled out of a hole at the end. Any 1st class box less than 6x6" often is trashed by the machines. Just my 20+year HO.

Thanked: 634Thanks Richard.
This is only the second incident I have experienced in years of selling. Unfortunately it was not insured. I will have to insure in the future of give the buyer that option. The other was a razor I sent to Russia. All was good till the virus hit. For four or five months it is lost somewhere in limbo. Russia stopped accepting packages and it was never returned.
What bothers me most is someone had to notice the damage to outside envelope and did nothing. You and me come from a generation that took pride in our work. The current generation only go thru the motion to get a check.

Wow... sorry they happened to you!
I have had a few issues with them as well... so I pretty much always use flat rate boxes, much like Geezer, and pack those suckers good.Recovered Razor Addict
(Just kidding, I have one incoming...)

Thanked: 634The thing is I don't charge for shipping. I also don't make a large profit on the majority of razors. First Class is the cheapest way to send. I may have to start offering insurance as an option to buyers at extra cost of just add it into the listed price.
