Sorry about that damage it's such a shame and as you've said you don't make a lot on your sales in the first place.
I have a feeling that such damage is caused by automated sorting etc.
However I shipped Benz four 1/2 pints of assorted homemade jams and jellies. They were all wrapped in small bubble wrap and didn't move at all in the box. He said when it landed it looked like the fork of a forklift had been rammed into the box. 3 of the 4 made it fine, however the blueberry jam didn't and blueberries were his favorite fruit.
When I rode over I took him a couple of pints of blueberry jam and syrup and he was thrilled.
I do wonder about tracking these days. A mate in the UK sent me a painting using Royal Post with tracking (which once here USPS uses) and the painting arrived quite awhile back, however if I use the tracking number it shows it's still in San Francisco. Yup! Just rechecked and there's no additional info since the 16thLast edited by cudarunner; 08-22-2020 at 08:36 PM.

Thankfully the razors i have bought from you have arrived in perfect condition.
As an aside, I haven't used the last razor you sent (11/16 GEORGE WOSTENHOLM I-XL) because I'm keeping it as a goal post to compare the razors I have just honed against. The other shave ready razors I have been sent by excellent honemeisters are about ready for a touch up and your edge is still fresh.- - Steve

Thanked: 433When I was buying and selling I would use a padded large CD mailing envelope and kind of wrap it up like a burrito. I never had a problem. I also insured anything over $40 and usually used a small flat rate box on those
Sorry to hear about the damaged package

Yea, I would never send a razor like that. It always goes in an actual box with about 3 inches of bubble wrap around it.

Thanked: 0With fountain pens people commonly ship them inside a length of thick PVC pipe and just tape off the ends and put that into the package. Maybe that could be adapted to razors?

I've used the off brand imported rectangular toothbrush boxes/travel tubes for up to about 7/8ths. The round ones may take 5/8ths. Both types have draft so which end of the blade the blade is inserted makes a difference.
They are largest at the joint of top to tube.
Good luck!

Thanked: 104I am in Upstate New York and stuff usually gets to me quickly and in fine shape. Cross country in less that a week. But if I ship something to my mother in Maryland, a week and a half is about what I can expect. Its only a 7 hour drive by car but a package will take ten days. From MD to me takes 5 days. USPS is some crazy stuff. I love to watch the tracking of stuff by FEDEX. Just random stops in random states that arent even on the way. Crazy stuff.
