Next time this happens the same way I'll be pretty sure.
There's probably some straight shaver on this forum who works at your local post office and reads this stuff and has your name on wall there for the "special treatment".

Another thing most don't realize is outfits like UPS and Fedex are private companies and when you call them to pick up parcels at your factory they can tell you "be there in three weeks". They don't have to accept your things if they don't want to. The Post office has no such luxury. Everything then gets dumped on them.

You say that like it's a bad thing. No way anything run by the government will ever out perform the private sector.

In many cases there is no equivalent in the private sector and it falls to the Govt to do jobs no one on the outside would do. The Post Office is a great example. The commercial carriers would love to take over all the parcel business but deliver letters to folks home forget it. If a private outfit ever took it all over there would be no home delivery. You'd have to go to a storefront to get your mail.

Another big difference is the private sector funds their business so they can conduct it with the greatest efficiency and profit. If buying new equipment and hiring more employees leads to more profit, it's done. Govt agencies aren't funded by need, they are funded by politics. Most agencies are so underfunded and undermanned it's a miracle they come close to doing their job. You really can't compare Govt and private for this reason alone.

Maybe I'm partisan here cause I worked for the Fed but I could write pages about this stuff. Most people use the old standby of Govt means incompetence and waste but they really don't know jack.

Yeah well I have close family members who work for the fed currently. Aside from that, based on your arguments, it sounds like you are trying to make my case for me.

    Patience is a virtue.
Canada has been the slowest delivery to here. "no hurry eh?"
Pretty sure it was on transit from a team of huskies north of snowdin..
Got here in the end, worth the wait.

If you are talking results period, in many cases you are correct but there be more to it than that. Otherwise you could apply that to anything. You could take the heavyweight champ and put him in a ring with a flyweight champ and when the little guy gets knocked out of the ring say "obviously the heavyweight champ is a better fighter" and ignore all the details.

Hey look. I respect your opinion....I heartily disagree with it but I'm sure you do likewise with mine and neither of us is likely to see ourselves as anything but unequivocally right. Welcome to the 21st century.

    That all not withstanding....
