My bad self had nothing to do with it. Fun watching, however!

I went back to the original listing last night. Based on several articles that I read here about the elusive W&B Egyptian Ottoman razor I wanted to check it out and see if any of the point brought up in the various posts had or have any merit with the latest offering.

The 2 posts that had me wanting to do a thorough investigation were from @Voidmonster. One, for the life of me I can not find but the other one (post 14) that I keep reading over and over talks about how some of these razors came with "spelling errors". Particularly the word "EgypTIAN"(the correct spelling) versus "EgypTAIN" obviously being incorrect. The thought being that the ones with the incorrect spelling might be counterfeit.

Various threads also point out how few of these are being reported in the wild. It has been stated that 2 have been seen. Fact is a well known member here at SRP that has one, there's another listed on WiKi, theres even another with a super sharp point on another forum...BUT there were rumblings of a third one that had this incorrect "EgypTAIN" spelling.

I plead the 5th but that is definately not my hands. My hands are more supple....like a proper lady's...LMAO

Please tell me some one here scored this beautiful razor.
I once was trusted enough to put one of those on the stones and then shave. Of course it needed more than just a touch up and i wasnt about to go further than that.

Im excited for you. Such a rare girl. Im ashamed to admit its not even in my ebay searches. Its like looking for a Bresduck Nepoloen razor (almost mythical)

To tell you the truth even if it was in your search at the time it wouldn't have helped.
The seller made no indication that the razor was anything other than a Wade & Butcher so you wouldn't have even got an alert.....lol

We've all either witnessed or heard stories of people who have no idea what they're selling....and someone gets a "great deal"......but I personally haven't seen something this rare be handled like this before.

Holy crap....another Unicorn, and this one looks ground more like mine (edit: nope, this is the grind like ProfChaos, with the notch).... - so I IIRC, think that will be a total of 5 that have now been found - Void said he knew of 4. I know ProfChaos has one, and I've got this one, and now you've landed a White Whale! Congrats Cheetah!

edit again: so it's 3 that are known, not 4, so this will be the 4th find of this razor, and the one with the misspelled stamp, which makes it even more rare! Wow! What journey did this elusive beast take, will we ever see another one again?
