Thanked: 1Wowzers!
Any idea if this thing is really worth the $500+ that it ended at?
Puma Gold Razor Vintage KNIFE~HUNTING~KNIVES~ - eBay (item 280299712278 end time Jan-11-09 19:22:59 PST)
If so, what's the appeal? I mean, it's certainly gorgeous, but it's not like it belonged to the King or anything...

Thanked: 278I don't understand either. Are parts of it solid gold rather than gold-plated? Or an extremely rare model?

I'm pretty sure it has been rescaled. All of the Puma Golds I've seen had a yellow handle with the Puma logo. I hope the buyer is happy with it as he will have a hard time getting his $$ out of it if he ever tries to sell it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1212I'm not sure, but I suspect some guys just place an exceedingly high bid, with the idea that they're not going to spend more than the second highest bid + $10. If two, eh... people like that bump into each other, this is what happens. (Look at the bidding history)
Just a hunch.

Thanked: 953I wonder with results like that if a snipe program went bad - that's why I only do it myself.
That , thing is scary because Europenas use commas in prices where we use periods. I almost did that myself last night (bid 40,50 instead of 40.50).

I hope this is a mistake or my aspirations of being a Puma owner are down the tubes.
