Goldedge must be Gold$
Nice razor no dought but......361$ for a goldedge that may or maynot be a true "mint" razor. Wow! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150337226919
Im no DD expert but it looks to be missing a washer off the stop pin.Last edited by Vashaver; 04-13-2009 at 01:34 AM.

Wow, steep. But as many have written before, this must have been worth $361 to someone?
Nice looking all the same.

I wasn't too surprised by that one, I actually thought it may go for more. It's one of the better ones to come across ebay.
The one that did surprise me today was a Puma Strop for almost $160

You can buy the same one from Classic Shaving without the Puma logo for $45. The cardboard outer is identical (I bought one for travel)

I bid on that DD, but had to drop out. To much $$$ for me. The pics looked pretty good.

Matthew, I too wonder about the stop pin missing a washer on the backside. I don't own a Goldedge, but that can't be normal. If it isn't, that's a crazy sum to pay for that IMO. Of course, someone could be buying it just to display and never use in which case the damage wouldn't be seen.

Well to be honest nothing on e-bay really shocks me anymore. Everyone has a diff opinion as to what mint should be.
To me in one of the pics it looked like there may have been some slight sighns of honing toward the heel on the same side with missing washer. It's prob just the picture but if those 2 things do exist it would not be mint to me.
Still a Dang Fine Razor! Like stated one of the best GE's in a wile thats why I watched it.
But im with ChrisL thats crazy money if it is not Mint. But it is a razor to last the ages no doubt.Last edited by Vashaver; 04-13-2009 at 04:27 AM.

For the record... the missing back washer was rather common i have vintage dovos, dd, cmons among others that do not have a washer on the back for the stop pin... they all appear to have been hot set into the back scale
Be just and fear not.

I agree Jim that its nothing strange... I too have many razors missing washers or never had them. But should it or could it still be considerd "mint" if it was there to start with but missing now? Or would that make it perhaps Nearly Mint...anyway this is starting to maybe get a little off topic. Thanks for the info on the hot set.
