    Default Vintage norton razor hone?

What was the deal with this hone? It had caught my eye because it was commanding a high price before it even closed, and then went up even more. I've not heard mention of it? Is there anything special about it, or is this yet another case of a mysterious ebay bidding war?

I can't really tell what it's all about, but based on the way the two sides meet, it seems to be a natural combination stone?

    Anyone have one of these?

Believe it or not we've seen those Norton ax stones go for north of $500.00. Particularly in Australia. Those ax guys are serious about keep their blades sharp.

Is it particularly well suited for axes, somehow? Or is it great for razors too?

I'm not sure but at those prices I'll stick with Eschers. I know they're good for razors.

I will dance a jig and holler out loud if I ever find one of those at an antique store, etc. I would then be logging on to Ebay so fast to sell that thing it wouldn't even be funny. More razor related spending money!!!!

I can't open the link. Is it one of those plain old round dbl sided axe stones? I've got two, one carbundum and one India. Is this the Norton? If so, I think I know what I'm listing tonight.

Nope. It looks like a regular two sided barber hone. It has the word Norton in a deep oval imprint on the end of one side of the hone. I think your round hone is similar to the old boy scout hones and I doubt there is much demand for them.
