I have my misgivings about the tang (lack of markings) also. I Have decided it was dropped before stamping was completed and broke the tip and shivered the spine. It was chopped by some employee to save it and taken home or given to someone.

Anyhow, it explains how it looks and how it shaves. It's good enough for me, but I can't sell it. If I ever decide to let it go, perhaps it will be a gift to a newbie.

In your quest for a Filarmonica don't overlook the #12's. I have a fillie #12 in white scales that I think shaves every bit as well as the larger blades and is lighter in the hand. The #12's seem to turn up more often at a more reasonable price too.
