Default Heads Up It Ain't An Escher

This item here # 380177892803 is listed by the seller as an Escher. The label is similar but it doesn't have the Escher name and states that it can be used with water or oil. Genuine Escher labels specify that you should never expose the stone to contact with oil. So it may be a great hone, I don't know, but it ain't a genuine Escher so don't go crazy on the bidding. Below are correct Escher labels.

I'm going to have to remember that. I just checked the box on mine and sure enough it says it in bold letters.

    Thanks for the tip.

    WTG Jimmy!

Did you let the seller know it wasn't an Escher?

Well the fellow listed the stone as a German water hone and I put a token bid in. He canceled my bid and relisted it as an Escher. My guess is that someone got in touch with him and told him that it was an Escher.

Short answer is no I haven't told him. It was item # 380175974657 and here is a link to the old auction listing.

Lol; did you see the seller's SatinEdge that "could be used for decorative purposes" - what a joke. I think this is just another person with a get rich quick attitude towards ebay.

Thanks Jimmy! I wasn't planning on bidding on it but did put it on my watch list, thinking it was a mint Escher. The detail you saw went right past me, and at another time I surely would have bid on it believing it was an Escher.
