I doubt these are fakes. Just look at the DD series- there are twin ducks and french ducks and bresducks vs. Pearlducks- then, I have a razor by Fontenille that is an EXACT shape of one of the newer TI's- I think that in all reality this was an earlier model or a later model that was made under different ownership or for a market with different tastes (newer seems more likely- the addition of jimps to the design seems more likely than the removal, as well as the generic Solingen scales and the lack of bluing). To me this seems like a newer model or a model made by someone who aquired blanks or the copyright or a contract (as Hoffritz's are made by dovo and therefore look exactly like them, or many other dovo contracts, or the fact that my Hess 42 stainless looks exactly like a c-mon stainless which looks exactly like a duck stainless- all have cracked ice scales, similarly done bolsters, names in metal in the same place on the spine, the same grind and similar gold wash....) I feel there are tons of reasons why this could be legitimate. We have accepted the Puma Ducks and French ducks, why not a new FWE?

Default Yea, this is common in other areas

It's called contract manufacturing, and it happens all over the place.

You might own a plant for making something that has a capacity of X, but your entire market share for that product is something less than X, call it Y. You can just let your machines sit idle, which is stupid, or you can sell the excess capacity (X-Y) to your competitors.

It makes sense to, because after the introduction of the safety razor, there was probably little incentive for most Soligen manufacturers to invest in new equipment or facilities, which means that the few manufacturers who did keep up production would be in a position to sell the excess capacity to others.

Which is how you get lots and lots of razors that look like they are stamped out by the same machinery but have two different names on the tang.

Lol I realise that. I was just providing examples because from past experience and own experience, when it comes to these things physical empiric evidence holds more sway than theories.
