I think you are trying to talk yourself out of buying it. For a 70 to 80 year old razor, it looks good.

Thanked: 20i prefer square. when i shave i keep my eye on the spine to tell me where the blade is. On a round blade, the "overhead" view of the spine extends beyond the most distal point of the edge, making it difficult for me to see the point i'm actually shaving up to (think near the ear - you'd have to have the round point touch your ear before the actual cutting edge reaches the base of the ear).
