Well, it seems only logical. If Filarmonica razors fetch USD 300-400, a reputable brand like Henckels should fetch twice as much. At least they come with decent scales.

    One every minute...

Why not? They were a commodity item, and mass produced.

FYI, the seller, Quinton, happens to be one of the best restorers of straight razors on eBay. If you haven't been here long, you might not know that, but there's no need to speculate about the quality of his razors here.

He always lists relevant work that has been done under the description section. As was noted upthread, he's an SRP member and a well-established razor seller on eBay. The razors are gorgeous, shave-ready, and he takes excellent pictures -- all contribute to the prices they get.

That Henckels comes with the original box and instructions. Scales are bakelite which I don't recall having been fabricated by any restoration guys here (at least I haven't seen 'em). Also some notes under the description explicitly say that he's done minor work to the razor:
In order to clean and sterilize this razor properly, the pivot pin was carefully removed. In order to keep this razor's dignity perfectly intact, special care was used & extra steps were taken to insure that the replacement pin not only appear 100% original, but that it work just as good as the original pin as well.
Two spots of surface rust were removed from the front side of the blade's face, which left two hardly noticeable spots of surface pitting that could easily be mistaken for hard water stains, or wear from oxidation. The opposite side had a concentrated area of peppered surface rust which has also been carefully removed.
Now I'd never pay that much personally, but those prices are consistent with the items he sells, and that's admirable.
