Duane is a decent, honest guy and certainly not clueless. I've bought from him in the past, and I've seen lots and lots of his razors for sale on eBay at very fair prices. This one is priced aggressively, for sure, but I wouldn't take that to mean that he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Thanked: 2591Pardon the use of the word clueless, I did not mean to offend those thet do business with the seller. However I do not see what about this razor warrants the asking price, apart for the scales that are not the usual red or black, with better pining, this Fridour looks stock to me, may be I am missing something. The seller obviously can ask w/e he wants for his items, I just don't see the benefit when there is the same but much cheaper.
EDIT:
I want to make clear, I do not know the guy, never dealt with him, this post was made about this particular item not about his pricing policies in general.Last edited by mainaman; 03-12-2010 at 02:32 PM.

I don't know his thinking about this razor. The price is too high, to be sure. But let's attack the price of the razor, not the intelligence or motives of the seller, especially since Duane has a long history of selling decent blades at fair prices. If you watch these auctions at all, you know that Duane is not in the same category as some of the crooks out there. That's all I'm saying.

That is a very nice razor. Is it more than I would pay? Yes. Is an 8/8 stainless razor in great scales with a worked back worth that much? To some people, very much so.
It's ridiculous and insulting to always assume a seller is "gauging"... if you ask me, the real asinine folk are all the people here who just assume all eBay sellers are ignorant crooks.

It's almost like we need some sort of government organization to regulate prices to keep people from charging prices that we think are unfair...because those crazy eBay vendors are just exploiting people left and right! They've got us over a barrel, and NO ONE HAS OUR SIDE!
Damned capitalist pigs.
**EDIT** Oh, hey! It sold!Last edited by JimR; 03-15-2010 at 05:12 AM.

I'm sticking with my original point -- Duane is a decent guy, as anyone who has bought from him would know. Too bad for the purchaser for overpaying for this razor, but it's a nice blade and was not misrepresented, so as Matt Damon says in Rounders, "caveat emptor, pal."
