RED IMP NO 133 SOLINGEN STRAIGHT RAZOR MORRIS MFG on eBay.ca (item 140391337241 end time 21-Mar-10 21:50:35 EDT)
what are your thoughts on this, i dont really know the history of red imps, and id most likely have this rescaled by glen, max, or brad but from the ones ive seen on SRP they look like they clean up really nice.

I'd say don't rescale - see if the back one can be buffed or maybe replace only the back one - the scales are the Imps' signature. I've not used a Morris one (only Case's for me), but I've loved mine. I have a 133 and a 132 that I don't see myself letting go of.
I will say, though, that I wouldn't be surprised if that one goes for over $100 before all is said and done. People seem to collect the Imps.

Red Imp razors are really very nice razors.
The older ones were made by Case USA and then later for Morris Manufacturing Co in Germany. The 132 and 133 frequently show up. The 132 being the near wedge version.

Case bros is from the early 1900 - 1920 period while Morris Mfg Company ran from 1919 - 1950. Case Imps came in the carton razor box, while the Morris later came in the plastic razor boxes with the green sticker.

Max, I am but an insect in your presence, but I have to add something to the Imp-ology here. I actually have one of the coolest Red Imps on the planet -- it's a Ludo 6/8 Red Imp 133, and it's got a hammered tang, like a Beau Brummel. I think the Ludo Red Imps came even before the Case Red Imps, and I'm only guessing here, but I would think it might have something to do with trade stopping between the US and Germany during WWI or WWII. (Lots of German-owned trademarks were "taken over" by US companies during these times.)
As for this one, I've been looking for a Morris 3-pin Red Imp for a long time, as they are all excellent blades, but the screwed-up scales are a big turn-off for me. I've seen lots of people try to polish out this kind of damage, and it never works. Then you're looking everywhere for a Morris with good scales and a busted blade, which is soooo hard to find! Anyway you get the idea. By the time you find another Morris to buy to repair the first one, you might as well just buy one in good condition.

Just picked this up on ebay. I have a 132 and 133 from Case.
This is a Morris but is it me I have not seen a red imp with a round point
from the pics it looks like it has very little use. I dont have it in hand yet.
Ideas?
