Thread: Like Bidding Wars???

Over $500 now! I grabbed one of the photos too, just in case anyone is interested.
Also, can anyone say what is the difference between the actual blade in a Lifetime razor and the blade in a similar vintage Special or Gold Edge? I mean, I think it's kind of accepted wisdom that "the Lifetime was the top of the line DD razor", but sometimes that is just marketing bullcrap. I was curious if there was anything at all different about the steel or the grind of the blade. Thanks.

IME they are a good shaver that honed up quick and easy. Hold an edge well and real sharp comfortable shave. No better than a goldedge or a special though. Here is my hundred dollar investment. Not bragging or complaining ... just got lucky I guess.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1903I think the real question is, are the scales of the same quality as the other Dubl Ducks (ie sub modern Pakistani quality standards)?
It really is amazing. I mean, Bresnick also owned Deutsch. Why are the prices for the Hans razors not through the roof? At least they have high quality scales and do not look silly.

I think the bidding will top out around $950.
This one has the legs.

Thanked: 13245
The Wonderedge is a "better" blade, the Lifetime was just that, it carried a "Lifetime" guarantee
It is about 20-25 times more rare then a Wonderedge by watching e-bay... The real difference is that they are much, much, more rare in good shape...
Finding them with straight scales and no rust/pits is very rare, I watch them very closely and have been watching them for about 3 years I have only seen 4 in this good a shape and 1 better...
Are they worth that scratch???? obviously that last two were
BTW The Otto's scales are made the same stuff, the real difference is the color of the scales, just that slight difference in the formula keeps them in better shape for a longer time.. But they will warp and twist with the best DD's so will the Brummels given the right coditions...
