The buffing comment was facetious, but I'm not sure if yours was. I certainly don't intend to bread-knife this blade. It would take forever and would result in a straight edge. Given the curvature of the spine, the edge needs to be curved approximately parallel to it to produce smiling blade.

Makes me sad to see such a disaster.
