Thanked: 1903Absolutely. My rationale being that now that Pumas are Pumi's, you will be able to sell one of yours for USD 1.5k (at least that would be a fair relation to a Filli at the current going rate), and sell me the other for decent money. Actually, you should give it to me, because I just opened the market for you.
But just for good measure:
PUMI'S IS THE BEST RAZOR! BUY PUMI'S! PUMI'S IS LIKE CHRONIC PLUS FILLI!Last edited by BeBerlin; 04-01-2010 at 06:28 PM. Reason: Typing at 155 mp/h is hard.

Thanked: 13245Oooooo Pretty Kitty's... I likey Puma's but they are nutz for prices too, and damn half of them are rust buckets...
They are even harder to find in good shape...
The one thing that has surprised me is that the Fillarmonica's are not RARE any longer, that I just don't get. I get the DD Reapers going way higher then worth, becasue they are rare, or the Puma NOS now that IS a rare razor, but Filli's are on there every day??? I don't get that...

Here is a book on the phenomenon. Extraordinary Delusions And The Madness Of Crowds. The Filly craze is like the thing that happened with the Dutch and tulips way back in the 1600s and more recently the housing bubble before it burst. The day will come when Fillys like that 14 will be back in the $200 realm. Those that paid these inflated prices will find themselves underwater. Unlike the house with the Filly they won't have the option of walking away. At least they may be able to shave with it if they know how to hone it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 6Just a couple of random thoughts: You can buy a Filarmonica made Ducal from Ebay for around $150 in 7/8 or No. 14 size...shaves the same and even has same crap scales. Vendor Mariona08 sells them by the bucket and he seems like an honest chap. I personally am not an "original scales" guy, but I certainly understand why others would be. I have 3 Filly's and all have scales made by me (likewise crappy but much more sturdy). Lastly, I thought I paid way to much for all at around $150...just goes to show that if you think you are being stupid there is always someone willing to outstupid you!!

Thanks for the link to the book
The world is full of samples like that.
My advice would be, if you don't feel that the price is right, don't buy it.
If you are making an investment, read up and be careful!
And I can't wait for the Filarmonica's to drop to $200, If it does my collection is surely gonna grow.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

WOW! All I can say is i'm glad I bought mine when I did..I paid literally half that for mine and wouldn't sell mine even for that much. Is part of my love for it the hype? Of course...and it makes me feel better about my purchase when I see others paying so much for it...lol. Would I pay that much? Heck no! But it really is probably my best shaver, maybe just because of the mental state it puts me in
