Thanked: 8For some reason I've steered away from the Dubl Ducks - they seemed overhyped and I don't really get into hyped stuff. But, recently I found a Special in about the same condition as you found and for the same price and I can honestly say that I get it now. Incredible shaver, I'm convinced! It was easy to hone and it is buttery smooth and it keeps an edge really well. Now, if I could just find a few more.

Hey man, great score! I recently bought a DD Satin Wedge at a local antique shop for $20. Honed it up and shaved with it last night and was one of the best shaves I've had. I had heard about their buttery smooth shave but I wasn't expecting it from a wedge.....she's a keeper!

The special #1 was their most prolific model and was actually made and intended for professional use. Later the came out with the Satin Wedge also for professional use because barbers specifically requested they make it.
