He has some of the better blades posted with scales as unassembled NOS for folks to put together - 8 Vintage Black Unassembled Straight Razors - NOS - eBay (item 110586446048 end time Sep-21-10 20:16:11 PDT)

8 for $9.99...and I see at least two posts out there like that.

I don't know a thing about fixing blades, but man, the temptation is there....

There have been group buys in the past, but then we (SRP) organized them.

You are of course free to organize such a thing, but not in our public forums. Ditto for giveaways, raffles and other such things.

Thanks for your clarification Bruno, but I have/had no intentions of setting anything up. Was posted tongue in cheek (mainly just an attempt at humor) Dave

I can't believe the bidding is up to $255.00 with 7 hours to go on this pile of rust. Someone really wants them. Hope they know what their getting into.

If someone has a lot of time on their hands and enjoys derusting blades, this would be a fairly cheap way to enjoy doing that. less than a dollar a blade

I'm actually trying to get one of there sets of 8 blades with scales if I can at a reasonable price so I can practice and try to learn something. 135 is just too many for me to think about sneeking past "she who must be obeyed"

And really, believe me, 98% of those are beyond restoration. Someone is paying a lot of $ for (if they are really lucky!) 10-20 useable razors-- which will never be nice, just serviceable-- and probably fewer.

    Takes all sorts, I guess.
