As a general comment on the thread - I'm sort of surprised people are so openly so negative. No one (myself included) has any actual information about the seller beyond the questions that a few members asked. It seems good reputations must be earned, but bad reputations are easily implied...
That is a pretty serious accusation, especially given the actual explanation. It's because of the reserves.
The reserves were very clearly at $75 - a bid under $75 won't raise the visible price, but a bid over $75 will raise it to $75 right away. As for $150, I'd suspect that two people randomly selected the same one to make a single high bid on them.
Given how many times you said you thought the seller was ensuring they would get a low price by listing all the razors at the same time, I'm surprised you think the seller would do something like use shell bidding to drive the price up. Those two actions seem totally at odds with each other.

I put a max bid of $86 on one of the #13's but lost. I put the bid in, went to the gym and when I came back, I found out I lost. Oh well......took a slight gamble.
I'd like to know what the story is with these razors from whoever won.

Thanked: 6Point well taken...but for me it was just a little scary given some of what we didn't know. Probably wrong to assume the worst, but you have to admit it's not every day that 30 brand new Filly's pop up on Ebay from out of the clear blue from a seller who has never sold a single straight (that we could see) and didn't offer up a ton of warm fuzzy when asked about additional pix, etc...but like Christian Slater said in True Romance "...if I'm wrong, I swear I'll friggin' apologize"

Dylan, I don't mean to be overly critical. I don't like the fact that the seller is using IDENTICAL photos to sell what are different items in different auctions. At the very minimum, I think eBay rules require that you show photos of the actual item you are selling, not just an example of it, especially when the items are unique like these razors are. On the other hand, the razors could be completely legitimate and, based on the prices, an excellent, once-in-a-blue-moon deal for those who were lucky enough to purchase. I'm skeptical, but as I mentioned, I'd like to hear that someone got a great razor from this guy.

Are you sure the photos are all actually the same? He got the shots with black scales to look, to me, exactly the same as the ones with white scales. It's not much of a leap for me to think that maybe each photo is of a different razor.
I also don't think the razors are unique. They were mass produced and are NOS. Sure, there may be minor differences, but probably not anything that would show up in the photographs - assuming they are in the condition he says they are, which there is no reason to doubt.
I'm fine with skepticism - I'm very skeptical myself. But when I see this thread I don't see skepticism - I see a lot of assumptions being throw out as if they were substantiated.

Here was his reply to me about the pictures of the razors
Dear dllandry10,
I have Multiple Filarmonica's for Sale of the #13
and #14. That is why I used the same picture. On
the 14's I used 2 Different pics, one for the
Ivory and one for the Black. On one of the #13's I
didn't take a pic of the Black one, but I did list
in the description that it was Black and not
Ivory. Hope this helps

Thanked: 6Hey, thanks a again! Wasn't it you that started that this whole mess? Actually, was hella fun deciding on which razor I don't need to bid on at a price that I can't say no to. Just an aside... I didn't do the math but it looks like he pulled around $2000 for the lot (sans the scissors). Imagine "offered for your consideration, 18 nos Filarmonica Doble Temple razors #13 & #14 new in box at a starting bid of 99 cents"....lots of good pix, 5 day auction, ending Sunday night at say 8pm EST....ya think the last bid exceeds 4K.
