I have only been buying straights on ebay a couple months and have not been ripped off or scammed and mostly have been very lucky as most of the items I bought were better than I expected. A lot of sellers don't know anything about straights or their true value so sometimes you can run across deals that seem almost too good to be true.

A month ago I got a NOS Henckels Twinworks for $56. For a lot of people straight razors are ''useless junk'' so when Uncle Bill dies they are just happy to get any money they can for them. At least that's an alternative to thinking than that it is too good to be true and that it must be a scammer which stops you from bidding on the good opportunities.
Just remember that while most sellers are honest, there are many scams out there and while you may be fortunate enough to avoid them, it pays to question everything if you are not willing to totally lose you monies paid. There was recently a big scammer on another razor forum (B&B) who took a lot of innocent members money. There are many things you can do to protect yourself, but if you ever have to process a fraud claim thru Ebay, Paypal, et al you will discover that it is neither fast or hassle free....just a word a caution

Mattluthier just delivered my Fliarmonica Doble Temple #13 from the lot that was listed.

What a beauty. It was just as advertised - brand spankin new and the shipping was super fast. I received one with the white scales.

I will definitely be taping the spine on this prior to honing.

I also received my filarmonica. It does have tiny specs of rust but nothing a bit of polish can't take care of. It's a #14.

    Whoehoeeeeee my first fillie

I was lucky enough to find a Filly DT13 NOS a couple of years ago, and it is still truly my favorite razor. I even prefer it to my $1000+ customs...

To each his own though...I put beautiful custom green heart abalone scales on my Filly. What a great blade; wonderfully sharp and strong carbon steel!

Had to drop my two cents on Filarmonicas! LOL! Peace, Friends!

I received the Filly's today the seller also included the carton that holds six razors. One of them had a bit of staining but nothing major, and the rest were still in their paper and spotless.
And they are very very sharp only the lightest touch up will be needed.
Anyway, I'm really happy. I wasn't really expecting to win so many but I 'm glad I did.
