Thanked: 12Great to see that people are receiving their razors. This was a unique opportunity to get NOS filly's for less than $100.
I won 4 of them.

Thanked: 6I think you will find you made out like a bandit. I was tempted to bid on more but just locked in on the one. I figured there would be some members here also bidding so I wanted to play nice. I had to tighten the pivot pin on mine a bit and give it around 80 passes on a 16K. I just finished shave testing and I am happy to report it is a typical Filly....silky smooth!!

Thanked: 12I was expecting them to go for more so I was surprised when i won so many. I have seen ones that were in good shape but clearly not NOS go for $150 so I was expecting them to go for a lot more than $100 anyway, even with a seller without a history.
I have only been buying straights on ebay a couple months and have not been ripped off or scammed and mostly have been very lucky as most of the items I bought were better than I expected. A lot of sellers don't know anything about straights or their true value so sometimes you can run across deals that seem almost too good to be true.
A month ago I got a NOS Henckels Twinworks for $56. For a lot of people straight razors are ''useless junk'' so when Uncle Bill dies they are just happy to get any money they can for them. At least that's an alternative to thinking than that it is too good to be true and that it must be a scammer which stops you from bidding on the good opportunities.

Thanked: 6Just remember that while most sellers are honest, there are many scams out there and while you may be fortunate enough to avoid them, it pays to question everything if you are not willing to totally lose you monies paid. There was recently a big scammer on another razor forum (B&B) who took a lot of innocent members money. There are many things you can do to protect yourself, but if you ever have to process a fraud claim thru Ebay, Paypal, et al you will discover that it is neither fast or hassle free....just a word a caution

Mattluthier just delivered my Fliarmonica Doble Temple #13 from the lot that was listed.
What a beauty. It was just as advertised - brand spankin new and the shipping was super fast. I received one with the white scales.
I will definitely be taping the spine on this prior to honing.

Thanked: 6I also received my filarmonica. It does have tiny specs of rust but nothing a bit of polish can't take care of. It's a #14.
