    Default Awful blades...but the scales?

Everyone knows that the Krieger blades are not recommended. How about the scales though? At least by the descriptions, the scales seem to be a pretty good deal. Seems like a good idea to just buy the kriegers for the scales. Anyone have any experience with these?

+1 and some of the kriegars are too heavy. I hate unbalanced razors. I also dislike cheap imitations of carbon fiber.

I don't think it's worth it for the scales. They are cheap, and the fit & finish is not up to snuff. There are some shops that sell replacement scales. I'm pretty sure SRD does, but they seem to be out of stock at the moment.

SRD indeed sells replacement scales, and they have some DOVO Pearlex scales listed.

I'm fairly sure they have others that may not be on the site. I'd email Lynn and Don about it.

I think someone tried that a while ago. It seems that their scales are just a bit too short to use on most blades. Anyway, I imagine all of kreiegar scales are just plastic. Wouldn't you want something a little nicer than just plastic?

Thanks for the posts, guys. In short, yes I would like something that isn't awful. I was just sitting around last night watching football and checking out ebay when the thought crossed my mind. I figured I'd ask the professionals.
