Question Regarding Ebay Seller
After the unwholesome debacle with my first razor, I am looking to get a Dovo 6/8 'Best Quality" razor which I understand is reccomended for beginners. I located a seller on ebay called open_razor out of Poland selling Dovo Best Qualitys for c. $80 - does anyone have experience with this seller?
any advice is appreciated

I strongly recommend to all new str8 shavers to stay away from the bay until your more comfortable with Straight Razors. Stick to well respected sellers/vendors and you won't be sorry later.

I'll hold my hand up and admit to buying one from that seller. I'll let you know how I get on with it.
My first razor was an inexpensive gift. Given how badly that worked, pulling at hairs etc, I'm incredibly paranoid about getting a new razor.
I want one that's sharp enough to do the job, but at a price where I'm not too scared to make mistakes when stropping or even honing. Most of all, I want to have a razor in my hand and know "this is how sharp it's meant to be, this is how it's meant to feel against face." The most infuriating thing about being new to this is the uncertainty of whether or not my razor is shave ready.

the seller has been selling shaving equipment on ebay for years.
originally they were selling mostly wapienica razors.
my only concern is whether the razor is well honed, as that's the most important thing if you'll be using it for shaving.

Thanked: 52Agree with going to SRD if you are a noob. There are also other good places--some advertise here too.I bought a dovo best quality 5/8 from Straight Razor Designs and for less than you quoted above, I got a fine razor, honed about best you are going to get (Lynn and Don hone) and SRD also gives you a 2nd hone down the road for free. Because I'm a noob, I felt confident with it being shave ready because of their rep. And it was.
