Good on the buyer. They obviously wanted it badly. I'm a bit peeved that I only managed to get a Doble Temple 13 NOS before the prices went up. I'd love a couple of other Filarmonicas and a Palmera or tow.

Thanked: 0I feel the same way. This purchase might be unreasonable to me, but I know people that could do it without a problem. If it's what you want, and you can do it, well, ok. And really, it is an attractive razor, and the condition can command a price we are not used to seeing.
Now that I think about it. This doesn't seem strange at all in the world of collecting. A while back, I thought my friend was crazy for paying $350 (neither one one of us had that kind of money back then) for an unopened toy. I think think he ended up selling it for $1600.

As a collector and maybe if it is rare. But as a razor for shaving NO! There is now way that razor would be worth it. I have Many razors. A couple Fili, palmera, wackers, yada yada yada. Among all my razors Big names and small. Some do out perform other. Some Top performers were only $15.00 others $200. Does the $200 blow away the $15.00 one. NO!
If money was no object and i was putting a collection together then maybe thats what i would do to complete it. Of corse that is not the case for me.
I could only imagine what the makers of these blades would be thinking if they were still alive. Probably think they are crazy, or that they need to raise their prices. LOL!
