Thanked: 13245I doubt there are two people in Phoenix with this large of a collection, which means I probably talked to this guy 2 years ago about buying this collection.. He wanted much less at that time...
He also at that time was un-willing to part it up, and yes many of these are "Scales" razors.... He has many that are NOS "Shavers" which of course was what I was after, but couldn't pry him loose on those alone...
I have done a bit of "Restore" work for "Scales" collectors and be forewarned, they could careless about the Historical accuracy of their collections they are only about the pretty scales, and don't care what razor goes inside. or the ability of said razor for shaving...
This is all just info I have garnered over the last 2 years and might have nothing to do with this lister....

I can understand his reluctance to part it out. Sell all the primo stuff and be stuck with the dross. Finding someone with the $ and the desire to part with it is a tall order when you get into that much dough. If he needs the money bad enough he'll do what he has to do. I feel sorry for him if it really is a case of his needing an operation.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 20I remember reading a post by him saying he needs the money for an operation that his VA insurance wasn't covering. I could be wrong though. I know he wanted to post the collection in the classifieds a few days ago I came across that thread the other day. I wish the guy the best.
