I've chosen them mainly based on the width of the blade. Due to my facial features, kind of "cornered", I'm looking especially for the equivalent of a 4/8 or even 3/8.

There have been talks here about a Ebayer who sells way overpriced Japanese Tousukes, but like I mentioned, the links to the guy were way too old for Ebay to keep the record. It's either this or a Feather.

Thanks
Well made "authentic" Japanese style razors are expensive... as you have noticed.

The feather is a darn fine product. The big advantage is the
blades are sharp. It can take a long time, a lot of practice
and a good handful of fine hones before you can top/equal its
sharpness. Feather has three blades and the size differences
provides for differences in shaves from the same sharp blades
that can be pleasant.

Razors of 4/8 are quite common and sell for less
than a 6/8 by the same maker. For some reason the
smaller blades are seen as less, yet they hone and shave
very well. Just watch out for a 6/8 that has been abused
and is now a 4/8 still some of those can shave well when
correctly honed.
