Thanked: 4Bartmann vs FILARMONICA #13 advice.
Greetings all...
1st up thanks for the advice on TI's mass cleaning to removing oxidation. Worked like a charm.
now question at hand.
1) I've seen these on ebay. And sellers put a price of 600 usd on them. What would be an ideal price for these? Coming from a 3rd person who has dealt in buyin and using these razors. I did some scooping around and 350-400 range is what these razors fall under?
Both razors are 7/8 and 13/16 respectively. I do not know much about FILARMONICA #13 but what i've seen is they are super rare and 13-14 are most sought after.
Need advice on extending an offer to prospect seller.
Thanks
Nico.

I think you are a bit wrong about the rarity of Filarmonica DT? #13. This razor is basically constantly available on ebay.
It is a good razor. What that is worth, is for you to decide.
The most coveted Filarmonica's are the Sub-sero, Novodur and Especial para barbas duras. The medallon Taurino is also lesser in availability that the Doble temple.
When it comes to size, the #14 has a higher average price by far.
Good luck hunting.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanked: 4hi thanks for update... so #14 is a lot better find. I will keep it in mind. I do not know much about either of the razors in question. So thanks for filling me up.
the razor in question is a #13 Novodur. Well the price offered by the seller has not moved below 500. With rareity in question; I'm not sure it if worth 500.
For that much bengies I can get a custom razor or a fancy scale TI or Dovo and still have money for week's worth of food =) ...

When it comes to what you pay for a razor, it's definitely a case of YMMV. The difference between #13 and #14 is size. A #13 is usually around 6/8-13/16 and a #14 is usually around 7/8-8/8. I got my NOS #13 Doble Temple not that long ago for less than $150. The only Filarmonica I'd consider paying anywhere near $500 for would be a NOS EPBD #14.

Thanked: 4Thank you againg for all the feedbacks and updates. Esp on FMonica.
My present ventures:-
I've the professional horned stainless steel dovo. 295 one with dark wood and a second one with mammoth tusk.. and a few TI's mostly the LE's ram horn, and one with lot of work on spine for 400 beans.
But now am starting to venture into the smaller makers... hence my post for a 9/8 SR pre Civil War question about the maker.
The more I hear from you guys the lesser I want to spend on gettin the guy's razor. I will just have to look out for a #14. Have to agree recently tried 6/8 and 9/8 and like 'em a lil better than 5/8. Again personal choice; and holding a 5/8 feels much lighter there of.
TY...again.

Personally I don't think the Fillys are rare at all ,there on the bay all the time at extraordinary prices, however I did buy a nicely decorated Bartmann for about 50-75 bucks,I don't remember what my highest bid was,and I bid on it because I'm a Simpson's fan,so I was really surprised when I found out that it was a well respected brand and that I got a great deal because of the decorations. once I honed her up and stropped it it shaved like a champ,I mean as good as any I have,BUT I don't think I would pay $600 to replace it were something to happen to it,and I really cant imagine a Fhilly being that much better as to deserve such outrageous prices IMHO,I cant see it
