RAGE! someone is getting my first neutral or negative feedback.
ok... so I found a hone on ebay for a reasonable (compared to other sites) price. 1000/6000 for 45 USD shipped...
So I ordered it last Wednesday. I got an email from them last Thursday saying:Unfortunately, we encounter a problem with your order. We do not have any D1130 in stock anymore.
Needless to say, these people will not be getting a positive feedback. The difference in whether they get a negative or neutral feedback depends on their readiness to give me my money back.Last edited by commiecat; 08-19-2011 at 10:58 PM. Reason: Removed vendor name.

Thanked: 0Accidents happen, if the seller send you a new one or send your money without arguing I don't think the seller deserve to get bad feedback.

Have you contacted the seller about remediation of the broken hone yet? If they're willing to replace it for no charge I'd be happy. Water stones are relatively delicate creatures and while that packing doesn't look amazing, it looks adequate. More than likely it's UPS's fault, not the sellers.

Life happens. Email the seller and show him the same photo, if he makes things right everyone is happy, if he chooses to do nothing then -feedback is understandable.

well, I've opened a claim with UPS and emailed the seller to advise of this. I have a feeling UPS won't cover it, because it was packed very poorly and it was an internationally shipped item. I've informed the seller of this, and I have yet to get a reply. I might not until Monday.

I don't think there's anything UPS will do. Their contract is with the sender, not the recipient. If the seller doesn't respond you should open a dispute through ebay since that's where you conducted the transaction.
I guess you figured it out, but generally when you try to cut corners somewhere, you have to pay for it somewhere else. There is a minimum that quality will cost you, since it does cost to produce a razor/hone, then to ship it to the vendor and they need to cover their cost of doing the business of selling instead of doing something else.Last edited by gugi; 08-19-2011 at 11:50 PM.

I think there's nothing to be said on this issue until the seller responds. If he makes you whole immediately, drop the anger. If he doesn't you're justified in taking action. And I agree that the stone needed bubble wrap, and it wasn't there.

Parcels sometimes get used as footballs in P.O.'s
Put in a claim with eBay if the seller doesn't offer a replacement or refundThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Advertising something which isn't in stock is the part which I think warrants neutral feedback, how they deal with the issue of the stone breaking in transit would be the opportunity to earn back the positive!
