It's a re-make, possibly from the 70's. I am not sure. I have a "John Deere" like it. I haven't tested mine for edge holding yet, but if you don't hurry up and snag it at that price, I will.

Alrighty then - I will buy it now before someone else does. If you really want it - I'll pass it along for the same price.

Pretty cool, I've been wanting something like this ever since seeing Lynn's on the shaving DVD.

I think those are cheap knockoffs made from poor steel.
I looked at that auction carefully and that razor is brand new. The box says "Famous Razor Collectible Series" !
I think he is taking great liberties with the term "Vintage". This is one cheap Asian/Pakistani razor.

    Buyer beware!

Collectible says it all: it's intended for collecting and exhibiting not shaving! You might be lucky and find it is a good shaver as well.

I probably wouldn't shave with it anyway, just to keep it pristine, but it'd be best to have the Working Tools & Symbols displayed on an item of quality if such could be found.

The whole "It doesn't have to shave, it's a collectible" thing: I don't get it.

I'd think a decent shave would be a prerequisite to be a collectable.

I definitely will try to shave with it - or, at least, hone it. Don't really care about exhibiting it. The only thing that scared me is the Pakistani mention - because I have heard Ilija's horror stories

Will give you all an update when I get it / when I get to it.

    Cheers

Some of us collectors are wierd that way. I have guns I'll never shoot ... knives that will never cut anything... and some hot wheels cars that will stay imbedded in the bubble pack for as long as I have them. Go figure...
