I've used them a lot. However I've never made a claim so I don't know if they require documentation of not. Unless it is an expensive item they probably don't as long as you have proof of mailing. The policy doesn't mention have to verify anything.

Thanked: 1You should know SEPOMEX (the official postal office here in México)! They not only stole ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, they accuse you for what they stole (Now I have three pending cases from SR which they would never use or sell!!). Insurance? No use…!

I have shipped many, many razors abroad and can tell you that Italy is the worst. I recently sent
a razor to Germany and it took a month to get there. A lot of the problem now lies in
customs. Foreign packages EVERYWHERE are treated more strictly now.
So what I do now, especially for expensive razors, is send REGISTERED MAIL. It is the most
secure and cost a couple bucks more but the peace of mind is worth it.

I was returning a piece of junk razor to the seller in Greece and to get a tracking number from the post office here in Calgary Canada was going to cost me over $60.
I had no idea the cost was so high!S.L.A.M.,.......SHAVE LIKE A MAN!!!

Thanked: 1I sometimes wonder why so much sellers on ebay DO NOT try to use Fedex or UPS when the prices for "registered and tracked mail" from USPS or other nationwide postal services just suck and end up being as costly but SO MUCH better!.

My locally owned equivalent of Mailboxes Etc. refuses to sell insurance from the US postal service. They say that USPS has never paid on a claim. Their policy was to step in and honor the insurance because they sold it but they got tired of taking it in the shorts. So no more insurance of USPS services.

Thanked: 2027I sent a two thousand dollor watch to germany last year, fully insured,USPS Express mail.It never made it out of New york customs.
30 days later they refunded all my shipping costs $85.00,I had asked the postal clerk what is the best way to send, she said express mail would be the best way.
The post master generals office sent a letter turning down my claim for the watch stating that Jewelry has to be sent registerd mail.

track your packages or lose $200
What troubles me the most is the "alliance" that the USPS seems to have with China. 5$ eBay buys are shipped free and deceived tracked and signed for in less than a week. I send a old gift razor to the UK and it costs me 15$ for non tracked mail and it takes 3weeks. Something wrong!

Thanked: 1371Someone should start a class action lawsuit against usps for selling insurance that is in my opinion, fraudulent.
If they won't honor the insurance, they shouldn't sell it.
