I don't know if you guys have ever done the paypal dispute thing, but trust me, it's not much better... (a tad but not enough to buy expensive items on IMO ) I'm still 'owed' about $600 for 2 items that didn't show up, paypal has been trying to 'get the money' for about a year now I think

I havent done this with ebay or paypal, and I dont advocate anyone doing this, however, I was once so fed up with a small companies lack of customer service and violation of a warrantee issue that I wrote a letter from a ficticious lawyer representing me, I then wrote them an email letting them know that I have retained an attorny, and they will be handling the issue from here on out. The price of the item was around $70, so to make myself sound somewhat believable I told the seller that I have a lawyer on retainer for my company and I was so agrivated over the lack of service and blatent disregard for the warranty which was in writing that I was having lawyer take it from here. I also mentioned that it wasnt about the money it was about the principle of the issue and that I did have plenty of money and would see this through to make sure that the company was unable to pull any crap like this again. Obviously I wrote the letter from the fictitious attorney and myself in a very business like manor. Luckily they didnt cally my bluff and I was promptly refunded the money. Im sure there was something illegal about this, but I was young, I was poor, and I didnt have much to loose anyway...

Anyway, if you didnt want to lie about an attorney and this seller has any sort of ebay business you could always take the same format threaten to write the BBB and the attorney general. You could take it a step further and also tell them you were going to copy the IRS, since they are obviously dishonest and you wanted to make sure that they were at least paying taxes on every single sale they made, especially yours...just a thought.

Ohhh the IRS is a nice idea I hadn't thought of that before. My wife actually works for a law firm so I could get a letter drafted for free.

The time I got ripped with the money order I filed a complaint with the USPS for mail fraud and never got any response from them either. FYI
