Ugh. I will no longer purchase or ship to Italy. I did a fleebay purchase where the seller did not respond to me after being paid. took over a month to arrive. Then it was crap razors, warped and repinned badly. not what was in the pics. had to contact ebay buyer protection and was told to send back to seller and they would reimburse after it arrived. Nope! seller never responded and ebay said too bad we will not reimburse. Over 4 months dicking around stalling. Finally I went to my bank and disputed the whole thing. Crazy...

Yeah, I avoid Italy for pretty much the same reasons. I sold two cameras to Italy on eBay, one never arrived, the second smashed to pieces (and the packaging was fine).
Luckily I sent them insured and could reimburse the buyers, but I was out two cameras...
Buying from Italy may not be so bad (depending on the seller of course), but their postal system needs some work..

Thanked: 2I'm sure you have already tried this but if you use the Italian tracking system
Poste Italiane - Dovequando
you get the following message
which simply says the information is not yet available (assuming the number is correct).
Keep trying! Maybe the parcel shows up before they update the system.

You're double counting
You got the insurance money, and the buyers got their money back, so at the end the shipper paid for breaking/loosing the cameras. Unfortunate for the buyers who wanted the cameras more than the money but you were just out of the extra work to sort out the paperwork.

I wonder how the earth compensates for us moving all these stones around?
