Thanked: 2That's It, No More Ebay For You!!
That's what my wife would be yelling at me right now if she knew that I just dropped over $200us on razors, completely out of the blue this morning.
The reason, of course, is that I found a newly listed seven day set of C. V. HELJESTRAND razors with ivory scales, on the market for less than 4 hours. One of the blades has some damage, and it can't be repaired, but the other six look nice.
What can I say, I'm a sucker for ivory and I don't own a matching seven day set. I've got a couple of C.V HELJESTRAND razors with ivory scales and the ivory used in them is very high quality, with excellent figure.
Can't wait to get 'em!
Since I've got to pay for this purchase somehow, look for an ivory brush in Super Silvertip in the vendors forum sometime soon.
Thanks for letting me brag a bit, and expect a modem frying amount of pics when the razors arrive!

Thanked: 9Matt,
I had just asked the seller on the size and was trying to buy them when they disappeared... I also asked the guy if it's bone or plastic (trying to keep him out of thinking it's ivory and bumping up the price) and he did say they may actually be ivory, which was my guess...
I was actually planning to keep only one and sell the others (I like variety, and prefer larger Heljes anyway...)
Good catch
Cheers
Ivo
EDIT: just now I saw the brush part - I could use one of those babies, you know... can you PM me w/ offer?

If you got the set for $200, even with one damaged razor, that's a great deal.
Congratulations.

Thanked: 9And, can you believe this - the guy (Francois) actually just sent me an e-mail to say he was sorry but the razors are already sold - this was quite nice of him, I think
Cheers

not bad, but not a screaming deal either - that's what good ivory 5/8 Heljes go for, I think. I got one the other day for 33 and am hoping it's 6/8

Thanked: 324You bet, Ivo. I'd be tickled to death to get one and recoup the loss.
